Normally I am an over the top Happy
(could really use some medicine) Person...
But for some reason today I have held myself a complete
and total... ALL DAY - Pity Party...
space
I hope I am not the only, mostly happy, person out there
who has a bad day every once in a while....
but just in case...
please forgive me and I'll pack up my party for tomorrow.

(This was mine and Brady's art project for today)
Having 2 kids in college is some days...
just a financial KILLER...
They are both precious, and we love them dearly,
and I know they are doing their part to become financially independent
(so that one day I won't have this worry...)
But... today I decided I really need to get
some type of part time job..
I spent all day looking through the paper, on Craig's List,
and every Internet job search I could find....
There is just nothing much out there period.
But I surely couldn't find a single thing that
even came close to using any of the skills I have packed in my suitcase.

I debated on whether or not to take just any random thing...
I debated on whether or not to take just any random thing...
Then I heard all the speeches I have given my kids about
how God has packed each of them with a special set of talents
and it is their responsibility to unpack and use them for his good.
So.. would I be unteaching everything I'd tried so hard to teach? ...
Would it matter to them at all?
Was I just having a bad day, and should just relax?
Is there even any part time job out there for a 43 year old
girl with a Bachelors of Education, All Level Art Certification
who loves to make things
and fill the world with Polka Dots ?.....
ANY suggestions ? .......

The more I tried to think the more frustrated I got...
AND... my day just continued to fizzle down hill...
So I am headed to bed hoping that
Scarlett O'Hara was right...
"After all tomorrow is another day!"
space
May we always be reminded...
that without a few bad days here and there
we wouldn't appreciate the good ones.

Sounds like you were just having a bad day sister...give it a little bit before you go rushing into just any job. You have the BEST job you could have right now...MOM!! You are right, if you are going to get another job...take your own advice and do something you love, or at least like. Call me and we can chat! I better call when Brad is at work next time, so he doesn't hog the phone :) It was good talking to him though...it's been a LONG time. All of us really need to get together!
Love,
Stacey Danford
Hey girl, I'm kind of there right now myself.
This might sound funny, but have you ever thought about having after school art workshops for kids? I know that some of the mom's around here are always looking for stuff for their children to do, even during the summer. You are very talented and could share your different talents. It's just a thought:)
Considering Brady will go to preschool soon, and in the city that is very expensive, how about looking into a part-time teacher at somewhere you are considering him to go, that way he could go "with" you and you could still earn a few $$$! I too, struggle with the should I go back to the classroom or not! I am currently tutoring at the Elem. school 4 hours a week, it is great extra $$$ and have 6 kids after school in my home! I am picky who I take, but it works out well and allows me to hang out with Griffin!!!!! Think about it.....need any pumping up or questions, call me 325-573-5714.......put out a flyer at the local Elem. school, and I bet you get some hits!
that is a hard one...creative people have the hardest time working regular jobs. it's one of the worries i have had about my kids being creative. i opened an etsy store the other night, haven't listed anything yet, but have you ever tried that? you know, there are probably plenty of polka dot lovers in the world that would love to buy your creations!!! or the vintage stuff sitting in your garage...(lucky guess)... whatever you do, try to use what God packed in your suitcase first, it will be the most fulfilling.
well, you even have a great attitude while you're hosting a pity party!!! you're absolutely right, the bad days show us how to appreciate the good ones! and pity parties aren't that bad....could there be a better excuse to eat some chocolate than when you have a pity party?!! hugs, :))
